How We Remove Slate Roof
In order to remove a slate roof, we follow these four general steps.
- Use a slate ripper that cuts and/or pulls out the fixing nails between the slates.
- Pull the damaged slate out of the roof.
- Remove all nails associated with slate tile.
- Insert the replacement slate tile back into the right position.
Is a Slate Roof Right For You?

Slate roofs work for homes in temperate or cold climates, since slate is not considered to be a cool roof.
